Please bring to Week #2 (1st week w/dogs):

Required:

  • Proof of vaccinations (bring to Orientation 1st week)
  • 6-Foot leather or nylon Training Leash
  • 15-to-20-Foot Long-Line Leash (usually starting the 4th week)
  • Sturdy Shoes (e.g., sneakers, casual shoes) - no high heels or open toes/heels!
  • Dog Treats (in bite-size peices, low-fat/high-protein recommended)
  • Treat Dispenser or Hip or Fanny Pack to keep treats at hand while training
  • Pooper-scooper and paper towels or appropriate cleanup items...you MUST clean up after your dog...FAILURE TO DO SO MAY MEAN NO MORE CLASSES. This is true even when we are outside.
  • Water bottle and bowl

Suggested:

  • Gloves (if your dog pulls or is strong)
  • Proper Transportation (i.e. Pet Crate, Canine Seatbelt)
  • Favorite Toy (If your dog becomes stressed during class this is a wonderful distraction. Play should also be used as a reward as treats are. Sometimes your dog will just need a 5-minute break to get it out of a boredom "rut".)
  • Jacket, unless it's HOT (classes often outdoors, weather permitting)
  • Comfortable Clothes (e.g. pants, jeans). Shorts are NOT recommended.

As Needed:

  • Halti or Gentle Leader
  • Muzzle...for a dog that bites. If you have serious concerns about the behavior of your dog, please call me at (508) 892-3275 to discuss the appropriateness of a group class setting and safety precautions/techniques. Every dog is different!
  • 30-to-50-Ft Long-Line...for "back-tying" a dangerous or uncontrollable dog. If you have serious concerns about the behavior of your dog, please call me at (508) 892-3275 to discuss the appropriateness of a group class setting and safety precautions/techniques. Every dog is different!
