| 1,2 | Step forward right; Step forward left. |
| 3&4 | Step forward right; Slide left foot up behind right; Step forward right. |
| SIDE-STEP LEFT, RIGHT TOE-TOUCH, SIDE-SHUFFLE RIGHT | |
| 5,6 | Step left foot to left side; Touch right toe beside left foot. |
| 7&8 | Step right foot to right side; Step left foot beside right; Step right foot to right side again. |
| ROCK BACK LEFT, RECOVER, SHUFFLE-HALF TURN TO RIGHT | |
| 1,2 | Step back on left foot; Shift weight forward onto right foot again. |
| 3&4 | Step left foot slightly forward, pointing toe to right, as you turn your body 1/4 turn toward your right shoulder (clockwise); Step right foot next to left; Finish half-turn by turning body another 1/4 turn to right and stepping back slightly on left foot. |

| 5,6 | "Scuff" the right foot forward (small kick letting heel brush floor while passing foot); Step forward slightly on right. |
| 7,8 | Lift both heels and swivel them 1/8 turn to right TWICE, allowing body to make 1/4 turn TOTAL to left, and be sure to end with weight on left foot. |
| TOE TOUCHES, MONTERAY 1/4 TURN RIGHT | |
| 1&2& | Touch right toe out to right side; Step right foot beside left; Touch left toe out to left side; Step left foot next to right. |

little push; Lift right knee and make 1/4 turn to left again; Touch right toe
slightly to right. (Variation on "&7&8": hold arms up and snap fingers when you touch your right toe. NOTE that holding arms out to side at shoulder height and bent up at elbows helps you keep your balance in turns, but holding arms higher does the opposite!) |
